Survey data will be utilized in aggregate form during seasonal performance evaluations. The Dockmaster will not have access to individual responses. The questions are derived directly from the Dockmaster's job description. The board of trustees will assess these responses alongside Key Performance Indicators and other responsibilities of the Dockmaster that pertain to interactions with the Board of Trustees.

Position Overview:
The Dockmaster oversees daily operations to ensure a safe, efficient, and welcoming environment for all association members. This role involves managing staff, addressing member needs, enforcing compliance of association policies, and maintaining communication with the Board of Trustees (BOT).
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the daily operations of the association, ensuring all activities run smoothly and in accordance with established procedures.
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of seasonal maintenance staff and part-time employees, particularly during weekend services.
- Actively engage with association members to address their needs and concerns, fostering a high standard of customer service and satisfaction.
- Monitor and identify violations of association covenants, addressing these issues promptly and effectively, and communicating findings to the BOT.
- Maintain a positive relationship with association vendors
- Maintain consistent communication with the BOT regarding operational needs, maintenance issues, and repair requirements.
- Conduct minor repairs to association facilities and equipment in a timely fashion when costs do not exceed $500.
- Maintain accurate records of transactions related to the debit account purchases and report revenue from the ice sales, laundry services, and miscellaneous items.
- Seasonally record electric use or each unit for accurate billing of utilities.
- Refer leasing inquiries for small slips and jet skis to the BOT, while coordinating with the property management company for financial obligations related to leases once approved.
- Report conflicts or disputes related to association CC&R (Covenant, Condition and Restriction) by referring such matters in a timely fashion to the BOT for appropriate resolution.
Certification and Knowledge Requirements
- Hold certification in pool operations and possess comprehensive knowledge of New Jersey marine laws and general boating practices.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in marina association management or a related field is preferred.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to foster a positive working environment.
- Familiarity with maintenance and repair practices relevant to marina association operations.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
